Calibration Check (SpectraProbe S/8)

This check should be performed once a week.  A record should be kept of the calibration data on a data sheet kept for this purpose.  This calibration check must be made against the factory-read values for the standard supplied with the system.

  1. Create a product setup for the calibration check which uses the XYZ color scale.

  2. Standardize the instrument.

  3. From the Offline Functions Menu select Sample Measurement.  (In EasyMatch OL Glass, choose Sample Measurement from the Run menu.)  Make sure that "Include Offset Correction" is NOT checked.

  4. Present the standard to the sensor in the tile holder and read it.

  5. Record the XYZ values on the data sheet.

  6. If there is a variation of more that +/-0.3 unit in XYZ from the VALUES READ AT FACTORY for the standard, clean the mirror and repeat the calibration check.

If the values are still out of tolerance after following these instructions, instrument repair may be required.
