LabScan XE can be stored in an area with a temperature range of -5°F to 150°F (-21°C to 66°C) for up to three weeks and can be operated under temperature conditions of 50°F to 104°F (10°C to 40°C). The LabScan XE may be operated under relative, non-condensing humidities of up to 90%.
Fluctuating temperatures may produce unstable readings, as the silicon detector is sensitive to rapid temperature changes. If the humidity is consistently above 80% for an extended period, long-term performance may be affected by oxidation (rusting) of electrical contacts. At humidities below 20%, static electricity may build up, so care should be taken that users are well grounded before using the instrument, or the instrument should be placed on a static mat.
