Operating Conditions (UltraScan XE)

UltraScan XE can be operated under temperature conditions of 40°F to 100°F (4°C to 38°C).  The UltraScan XE may be operated under relative, non-condensing humidities of up to 85%.

Fluctuating temperatures may produce unstable readings, as the silicon detector is sensitive to rapid temperature changes.  If the humidity is consistently above 80% for an extended period, long-term performance may be affected by oxidation (rusting) of electrical contacts.  At humidities below 20%, static electricity may build up, so care should be taken that users are well grounded before using the instrument, or the instrument should be placed on a static mat.
