If the optional serial printer prints while performing non-print-related functions (such as modifying setups), you may have disconnected the ColorFlex or MiniScan XE Plus from operational software (such as Universal or the ColorFlex/MiniScan XE Plus Utility Software) without closing the software first. To rectify the problem, perform the following steps:
Archive your setups by choosing the Archive Setups command from the instrument menu.
Reset the instrument memory by pressing and holding the Read, Down, and Right Arrow keys at the same time until the screen goes blank and then refreshes.
Recall your setups by choosing the Recall Setups command from the instrument menu.
In the future, close any operational software before disconnecting your instrument from the computer.
