Quality of Readings (UltraScan XE)

If your UltraScan XE is drifting or is not reading accurately, perform the steps below to attempt to diagnose and/or correct the problem.

  1. Clean the standard tiles as described here.

  2. Verify that the instrument is placed in a clean, climate-controlled environment with no drafts.  Verify that the instrument is on a dedicated power line and is surge protected.

  3. Clean the lens using photographic-quality lens solution and lens paper.  Put a few drops of solution on the lens paper and gently wipe the lens in a circular motion for a few seconds.  Then wipe the lens with a dry lens paper to remove streaks and any hazy film.

If readings are still unsatisfactory after following these instructions, instrument service may be required.
