Es ist die gleiche alte Geschichte. Der Ziegelstein bekommt die ganze Presse, aber in Wirklichkeit ist es der Mörtel, der alles zusammenhält. Das bedeutet, dass für Architekten, Bauunternehmer, Hausbesitzer und Mörtelhersteller die Farbe des Mörtels genauso wichtig für die Gesamtästhetik eines Bauwerks ist wie die Farbe des Ziegels. Während eine Mörtelfarbe, die den Farbton des Ziegels perfekt ergänzt, nur von wenigen bemerkt oder kommentiert wird, kann falsch eingefärbter Mörtel selbst für den flüchtigen Betrachter unübersehbar werden. Aus diesem Grund achten die Bauunternehmer genau auf die von den Architekten vorgegebene und von den Hausbesitzern gewünschte Mörtelfarbe. Die Hersteller müssen daher ihre Produkte genau überwachen, um sicherzustellen, dass sie kontinuierlich die von ihnen beworbenen Mörtelfarben produzieren. Fiber cement siding—a sturdy combination of wood pulp, fly ash, portland cement, and water—was first introduced in the construction industry just 25 years ago.1 Since then, it’s become one of the most popular materials that architects use for their projects. Almost 15 percent of all new homes have fiber cement siding, in part because this material is so durable and versatile. Although this material can be made to look just like brick, stone, or wood siding, it is actually far stronger than wood or vinyl materials, and less expensive to make than brick or stone. Quality fiber cement siding is fire resistant, termite-proof, rot-proof, and can withstand extreme weather conditions like heavy rain, strong winds or fluctuations in temperature.

But in order to achieve both the durability and beauty of fiber cement siding, manufacturers have to use appropriate color measurement methods at different points in the manufacturing process. Siding color is often the first thing that visitors notice when they look at a house, which is why it’s so important to test for color accuracy before you sell your products to customers. Even subtle inconsistencies in color could make fiber cement siding appear cheaply-made or weather-worn, and will negatively impact the overall appearance of the house. By using spectrophotometric color measurement during manufacturing, you can ensure that every piece of fiber cement siding meets your exacting standards and that your final product will appear beautifully-crafted.

Ich habe das Glück, in einer der schönsten Gegenden unseres Landes zu leben. Tatsächlich verbrachte ich fast eine Stunde damit, mit dem Winzer über die Farben von Weingläsern zu diskutieren. Sie fragen sich vielleicht, wie die Farbe der Flaschen so viel Aufmerksamkeit erregen konnte, aber in Wahrheit spielt sie eine wichtige Rolle für die Integrität und Marktfähigkeit des Weins.

Die meisten Weinkenner wissen, dass die richtigen Lagerungsbedingungen einen großen Einfluss auf die Qualität der Weine haben. Licht und hohe Temperaturen sind die Hauptschuldigen für die Veränderung der Weinintegrität und können sich direkt auf Geschmack und Farbe auswirken. "Studien haben gezeigt, dass sich die Farbe des Glases auf die Farbe und das Aroma des Weins auswirkt, wenn er dem Licht ausgesetzt ist; insbesondere wurde festgestellt, dass grüne Flaschen bei konstanter Temperatur eine größere Schutzwirkung gegen Licht haben als hellere Flaschen. Interessanterweise haben andere Studien genau das Gegenteil festgestellt, so dass nicht ganz klar ist, was im Inneren dieser Flaschen vor sich geht, wenn sie dem Licht ausgesetzt sind."1. Die Messung der Glasfarbe gibt Aufschluss darüber, wie sich das Licht nach der Abfüllung auf den Wein auswirkt, und kann den Weinerzeugern helfen, wichtige Entscheidungen zu treffen, wenn es um die Abfüllung von Qualitätsweinen geht.
